We sometimes hear from our candidates that in their online search for employment, they come across other companies that advertise jobs that don’t exist, simply to entice them to send in their CV. Well, we cannot think of a bigger waste of time, both ours and yours, and we want to assure you that the vacancies on our website are 100% real.
It does however sometimes happen that a vacancy is not available anymore, and we would like to explain what these vacancies are doing on our site:
First, sometimes our Recruitment Team is just so efficient in their job, that they out-pace our Admin Team, who is responsible to keep our website accurate. A job might therefore be filled already, or a client has for whatever reason decided to withdraw a vacancy, but the vacancy still appears on our website because the website is a little bit behind. We hate it as much as you when this happens, and we strive to keep such incidents to an absolute minimum. If this has ever happened to you, please accept our apologies.
Secondly, it sometimes happens that a vacancy is in the advanced stages of being filled: we might for example be in the final stages of salary negotiations; or our client might need a day or two to make their final decision; or the client has received a batch of CVs from us, will be reviewing and interviewing, possibly hiring someone from within that group of CVs, and asks us to not send any more CVs until further notice. During such a period the vacancy will remain on our website because nothing has been finalised yet, but the position might imminently not be available anymore.
Thirdly, there are other websites that offer the service of collecting vacancy adverts on the internet from all different sources, such as recruitment companies, and displaying the adverts on their own websites. Some of those websites do that with our knowledge and approval and cooperation. Others, however, do it on their own as a service to jobseekers. We of course do not mind that they also distribute jobs into the job-seeking market, but we do not have any control over the content of their websites. Unless we are made aware of expired adverts on such a website, we are unaware of them. So, if you do come across a StaffMatters advert on a different website and it comes to light that it is not an active, available job, please let us know so that we can take it up with the website in question.
By the way, there are also some jobs on our website that have been there for quite a long time already, and you might think that they are dusty old jobs. Well, they might be old jobs, but they are definitely not stale! A client might, for example, have ongoing recruitment because they are constantly open to receiving new CVs for a certain profile, or their team might be growing, and they might continually be recruiting staff.
What all of this comes down to, is that we sometimes do have a job on our website that is not active, but that would be simply due to timing, never more than a day or two, and it is never with the intention of deceiving you or misrepresenting ourselves.
At StaffMatters we pride ourselves on the high level of service we provide to our clients and our candidates. You are cordially invited to put us to the test! Get in touch today at 25341383 and admin@smstaffmatters.com.
